My name is Anne, and I'm a Prison Break addict.

I like to watch a few minutes of TV late at night before I go to bed. It’s a time when everyone else is asleep and I just want to take a few mindless minutes to unwind. I never like anything that’s actually on TV at that time of day (usually after midnight) so I usually keep something around from the video store.

Well, about 3 weeks ago, I was looking for something new and discovered Prison Break at Hollywood Video. It looked interesting and I like shows that have that on-going soap opera kind of thing. You know, like 24 and Lost. So I thought I would give it a try. You would think this would be harmless enough, right? Oh my gosh! Big mistake! This show SUCKS you in and will not let you go to bed. Over the next 2 weeks, I watched seasons 1 and 2 in their entirety. It’s at this point I realize they are 13 episodes into season 3 and those 13 episodes have not been released on DVD yet because the season isn’t over. I put Jack to work on finding those episodes on line for me. We found them on AOL video and I’m sucked in again.

I finished episode 13 on Saturday and told Jack to set the TEVO to record the new one this week. Well, guess what? Prison Break is a Fox show. Yep. Fox. So, just like 24, they aren’t making new episodes due to the writers strike. I knew all about 24 and the Fox writers strike. I’ve already grieved that and moved on. But it didn’t dawn on me that Prison Break was going to have the same problem.

The internet says they don’t know when or IF the show will continue!!! WHAT?? Sofia’s in the hospital with a gun shot wound, Sucre has been thrown into Sona, Mahone has gone to work for the Company, and Michael, who is out to avenge Sara’s murder, has found mysterious information in Whistler’s apartment about someone named Jonathan Lief from Scottsdale, Arizona.

I never would have started watching this thing had I known this was going to happen. I NEED closure. I think Hollywood Video should put warnings on the cases indicating that viewers should watch at their own risk as the show will end abruptly after episode 13 of season 3 due to the writers strike.

We've had Thomas 6 Months!

Six months ago today, we received Thomas in a tiny civil affairs office in Xian, China. When his nanny brought him in to meet us, he had a rather solemn face, but bravely came to me at the command of his nanny. What courage he showed, as he must have been absolutely terrified leaving all he had ever known. He warmed up to us quickly and began to fit right in. He was willing to let us love him and he loved us in return.

He is such a special child. He is beautiful, smart (scary smart), loving, gentle, kind, thoughtful, funny, delightful, sneaky, mischievous (which I think is at the direction of his big brother), and most importantly, my precious son. I love him so much it is impossible to put into words. I feel that God has blessed me beyond measure by allowing me the honor of being his mother. When I think back about the inertia which had to be overcome to bring him home to our family from CHINA, I am humbled beyond words that God orchestrated this miracle in my life. Thomas has made my life more complete by becoming part of it. He is the perfect addition to our family!

Here’s what I want to remember about Thomas today, six months with his forever family.

His English is perfect! The rate at which the child has acquired the English language has completely stunned all of us.

His favorite book is “A Mother for Choco”. This is just the most precious book about a little bird who doesn’t have a mother and is adopted by a bear. We read it everyday. I read it to him, and then he “reads” it to me. He says that the little bird needed a momma just like he needed a momma and that I came to China on an airplane to be his momma. And yes, he came up with that 100% on his own about the third time we read the book. I told you he was scary smart.

He still eats everything..... all the time! But still wears size 18 month old clothes at 3 and a half.

He prefers orange juice over apple juice and has started eating peanut butter by the spoonfuls. (He didn’t really care for peanut butter at first.)

He rides his tricycle like a pro.

He says, “Of course” when he’s asked to do something.

His vocabulary is amazing.

The other day I picked him up to carry him into the kitchen to get a snack and he said, “Momma, you are so nice to me.”

He and William are best friends and play very well together.

His favorite TV shows are Go Diego Go and Super Why.

He tells me to rock him and sing “Momma loves Thomas.” (It’s a made up song I recorded and put inside a dog we made for him at Build a Bear. We sent the dog to China in a care package for him while we waited for approval to go pick him up.)

He wants to check HIS email!

He is just too stinking cute!

He tells me he loves me all the time and gives great hugs and kisses.

He only occasionally asks to take his backpack with him when we go places now.

He loves to play outside.

He’s very excited about his 4th birthday (which is 5 months away) and is already inviting people to it.
